WHAT TO EAT
Any healthy eating plan starts
with vegetables. Vegetables are

dense, which means they are

antioxidants and fiber. You also
want to eat low-fat, high-quality
proteins such as fish, chicken,
beans, nuts, seeds, peas, tofu
and soy.
WHAT NOT TO EAT
"Eating smart" means limiting
certain foods, especially simple
carbs and sugar. Reduce the
amount of candy, cakes,
desserts and chips you eat, and
avoid sugary drinks such as
soda and fruit juice.
HOW MUCH TO EAT
When we take in more calories
than our bodies can use up, it
turns to fat and excess weight.
The quickest way to lose weight
is to take in fewer calories. This
does NOT mean you should
skip meals or starve yourself.
Instead, try to tune into your
body's signals and stop eating
once your hunger is gone.

Getting healthy doesn't require drastic changes.

Satisfying cravings with
smart substitutions.

You can still have chocolate, but

flavored cereal. It's fat-free and
contains fiber and vitamins that your
body needs.

Drinking a glass right before a meal.

makes you feel fuller so that you'll stop
eating sooner.

of the grocery store.

frozen foods, snacks and high-fat
items in the middle aisles. Avoid
temptation by shopping along the
walls, where you'll find healthy choices
like fresh produce, meat and fish.

Eating slowly.
It usually takes about half an hour for
the full feeling to kick in, so eat slowly.
The faster we eat, the more we eat.
